Bernard ANDREANI Scuba-diving instructor since 1987 and free-diving instructor since 1997, Bernard founded the first commercial scuba-diving center of Grande Terre, the main island of the archipelago. For all these years he has tirelessly worked on promoting free-diving in New Caledonia.
Invited by the champion Umberto Pellizzarito to the Free-diving World championships, held in Sardinia in 1998, Bernard and the New Caledonian team met the greatest free-divers of the time. Bernard took this opportunity to invite them to teach their techniques to the New Caledonians. Pelizzarri, Leferme, Mifsud, Frolla and Néry, all made the trip to Noumea and contributed to making free-diving very popular in New Caledonia. The territory now hosts the largest free-diving club in France.
Bernard has also been involved, with the late Alain Dujet, well-known for his dedication to kids scuba-diving in New Caledonia, in the development of a scuba training curriculum adapted to children (Bronze, Silver or Platinum Turtle).
He and Eric Clua, both free-diving instructors, have been able, under the FFSSM banner, to create a “snorkeling tour guide” diploma to help further develop this activity in New Caledonia.
Eric CLUA A veterinarian, holding a degree in economic studies and a PhD in marine ecology, Eric is involved daily, through his work and since 1992, in environmental conservation. Free-diver, national free-diving instructor and professional scuba-diver, Eric is passionate about marine fauna and specifically about sharks. Author of several publications on marine life, he is an experienced underwater photographer and video-director, who received the gold palm at the Antibes Worldwide Underwater Pictures Festival, in 2002. Without being directly involved in the daily operations, Eric offers his technical and scientific support to AQUANATURE, in order to more widely spread information about Caledonian lagoon treasures.
Julien Marlot Julien was born in France. He is a passionate scuba diver and a sea lover. He is also a snorkeling guide. He is sharing his time between snorkeling trip with AQUANATURE and his sailing boat which is also is home….
He love to share his passion with visitors and make them
discover the Noumea lagoon wonders.
Philippe FROLLA Captain, scuba-diving and free-diving instructor,
Philippe is also very knowledgeable about Caledonian fauna
and flora and has edited a fish identification waterproof
card. He regularly participates in scientific missions on
fish monitoring. Like his brother, the Monegasque champion
Pierre Frolla, he started free-diving at a very young age
and is himself an outstanding free-diver always keen to
share his passion for a day out or a full training course.
He is Bernard’s perfect Alter ego, and brings to the
team an extra touch of "Zen" and kindness.
